Sri Lankan fruits promoted at the China World Fruit & Vegetable Trade Exhibition

The China World Fruit and Vegetable Trade Exhibition was held in Beijing from 9 – 11 November 2012 and the Embassy of Sri Lanka made use of this opportunity to introduce and promote Sri Lankan fruits to the Chinese market.
The Sri Lanka pavilion at the Exhibition introduced Sri Lankan Mangoes, Pineapples, Red Banana and Guava. These fruits proved popular among the Chinese public who visited the pavilion and commented that the Sri Lankan fruits were attractive to them due to the unique flavor, aroma, colour and taste. A Sri Lankan export company, CR Exports (Pvt) Ltd. that showcased the fruits stated that the event was successful and that they were able to secure business with interested Chinese companies.
The Fresh Fruit Forum was held on the sidelines of the Exhibition and Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to China, Ranjith Uyangoda made a presentation on Sri Lankan fruits at the Forum. The presentations and discussions held at the Forum provided an opportunity to create awareness about Sri Lankan fruits to Chinese Agro based businessmen.
The China World Fruit and Vegetable Trade Exhibition is one of the biggest Agro based trade fairs in China.
